Web-Based Database Search (2007-2008) - I developed a small-scale database search application for an organization’s web site. The search engine provides clients access to contact information for training providers across North America. Written in ASP.NET, it features both a public front-end and an administrative interface for managing records.

Residence Front-Desk Solution (2005-2006) - I developed and supported from home, a database solution for the residence buildings of a prominent Ontario University. Never actually visiting the campus and clients, all requirements analysis was performed by email and phone calls. The system, built in Access, records and audits staffing, guests, loans, resident profiles, incidents, and prints temporary passes for guests using a POS receipt printer. It offers a large range of reporting options and security options, and can be (and has been) user-customized for a specific residence building’s policies.

Employee Time Card System (2002) - The Employee Time Card System was designed for a local business struggling with a legacy system affected by Y2K issues and desiring a flexible, modern solution. Using Visual Basic 6, I built two applications; one that employees use to “punch” in and out, and one that the head accountant uses to generate reports that are sent to the payroll company. Interviews, job shadowing and document analysis were used to gather requirements. Today, the business still uses the software and over 30 employees use it every day.

Webmaster (2002-2006) - For over four years I was webmaster for a well-known local band who perform classic songs from the 50’s and 60’s. I performed all work on the web site, including photos, news and upcoming bookings.
